Houlton Regional Hospital participates in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) program with a public reporting tool used to assess major areas of hospital performance to support consumer choice called the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS).The data below is some of the results of patient experience received from discharged inpatients at Houlton Regional Hospital from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 21018.
These results are from patients who had overnight hospitals stays from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 21018.
Patients reported how often their physicians communicated well with them during their hospital stay. “Communicate well” means the doctors explained things clearly, listened carefully to the patient, and treated the patient with courtesy and respect. These are the “always” responses.
Overall Hospital Rating
After answering all other questions on the survey, the patients answered a separate question that asked for an overall rating of the hospital. Ratings were on a scale of 0 to 10, where “0” means “worst hospital possible” and “10” means “best hospital possible”. These are the “9” and “10” responses.
