Houlton Regional Hospital continues to assess the needs of our local community through surveys with other care providers. The full survey was conducted through the One Maine Health group, which includes Eastern Maine Health Systems, Maine Health, and the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, to name a few.
The full results were distributed to all participating agencies and then a County specific report issued to further focus the needs of each area. The top needs for our area are as follows:
- Drug and Alcohol abuse
- Cardiovascular disease
- Respiratory diseases
We also have an employee that sits on the Aroostook District Coordinating Council for Public Health that is taking the lead to address the Aroostook County health needs. Based on all of this information, our Board has implemented a plan to address these issues and that can be accessed using the following link: http://www2.houltonregional.org/?attachment_id=6623
A paper copy can also be provided upon request.
The full Aroostook County report can be accessed using the following link: http://www.maine.gov/dhhs/mecdc/phdata/SHNAPP/county-reports.shtml
The above report was in follow up to the 2014 EMHS qualitative survey that we had previously partnered in. This 2014 report for Aroostook County can still be accessed using the following link:
