Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and Wellness Services

             The Cardiopulmonary Services Department at Houlton Regional Hospital provides many services including:

  1. Cardiac Diagnostic Testing
    This includes outpatient Event Monitoring, Holter Monitoring, Blood Pressure Monitoring, Tilt Table Testing, Cardiac Stress Testing, and Pacemaker/Defibrillator/Loop Recorder Testings.
  2. Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
    The Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab programs at Houlton Regional Hospital are certified by the “American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation”, or AACVPR.

 

AACVPR certified programs are recognized as leaders in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation because they offer the most advanced practices available, and they meet the strict standards set forth by AACVPR.

The Phase II Cardiac and Pulmonary programs are monitored outpatient programs that provide individualized and personalized treatment plans, including evaluation and instructions on physical activity, nutrition, heart and lung disease, medications and stress management.

Phase III Cardiac and Pulmonary programs are maintenance programs. These programs provide ongoing support and exercise for participants who have completed Phase II, as well as for participants who are at risk for heart or lung disease.
