arm-in-sling-sm3Surgical Services

The Surgical Services Department is comprised of the Ambulatory Surgical Unit, OR Suite, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and Central Sterile Processing.

We are committed to providing high quality procedural care.  Since we are a small facility, we have the time to see and treat our patients as individuals and not procedures.

Family is encouraged to provide support for their loved ones.  A waiting room is provided for family members outside the Ambulatory Surgery Unit.

Family members are kept informed of the patient’s condition at frequent intervals, and are encouraged to inquire as to the status of their loved one.

Our goal is to make your visit as stress free as possible.

Our staff is highly trained in all aspects of their jobs.  All Registered Nurses and Anesthesia Providers are trained as ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advance Life Support) providers.  All other clinical staff are trained in BLS (Basic Life Support).

Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU)

The Ambulatory Surgery unit is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  It provides patients with access to pre- and postoperative care, minor procedures, infusions, chemotherapy, and an Oncology Clinic.  There are three procedure rooms, two private care rooms and a five bed patient care area.

Preoperatively, patients are assessed by a registered nurse, and given the opportunity to discuss any concerns prior to the procedures.  On return back to the unit, they are reassessed at frequent intervals to assure that the patient’s recovery is complete and they are ready for discharge.

All nurses administering chemotherapy have received additional training to do so.

OR Suite

Our department offers a full range of surgical services both on an inpatient and outpatient basis.  Surgical specialties include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, urology and podiatry.

We have three operating rooms.  All equipped with state of the art technology that allows us to provide the best possible care for our patients.

The department is staffed or has personnel on call 24 hours a day to perform both elective and emergency surgery.

Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Our PACU is a three pod area attached to the Operating Room Suite.  The area is staffed by a registered nurse with training in monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia.

With the use of modern anesthetics, most patients are fully recovered and ready to transfer either to ASU or an inpatient bed within one hour.

Our staff is dedicated to providing you with quality care and respect at all times.
