Tammy began working for Houlton Regional Hospital in 1995 as a Phlebotomist. She loved the patient interaction and went on to obtain her R.N. Degree at Northern Maine Technical College in 1999. Tammy started her career at Eastern Maine Medical Center, but missed the community hospital setting. Tammy joined the Med/Surg Peds Unit at Houlton Regional Hospital and transitioned to the Intensive Care Unit, until its closure where she transferred to the Acute Care Unit. In the Fall of 2016, she became the Nurse Education Coordinator.
The Nurse Educator not only provides ongoing classroom instruction to the nursing staff and other medical professions, but also serves as a mentor for newer nurses and nursing students. Tammy’s education and experience will be very beneficial in this role.
Tammy resides in Houlton with her husband and has three children.
