Dr. Raph joins Houlton Regional

Houlton Regional Hospital is pleased to announce that Dr. Stephen Raph is joining the medical practice of Houlton Internal Medicine.

 Dr. Raph, a native of Pennsylvania, found his way to Maine by attending the University of Maine at Orono upon graduating from High School.  He then attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in the Department of Physiology.  Dr. Raph returned to Maine teaching Science to grades 7, 8 & 9 at Maranacook Community School in Readfield for four years.  It was during that time, Dr. Raph made the decision to enter Medical School.

Dr. Raph graduated from the University of Vermont, College of Medicine in 1998 and completed his Internship and Residence at Maine Medical Center in 2001.  Since 2001 Dr. Raph has served as a Hospitalist at Maine Medical Center from 2009 to 2011 and prior to that for eight years was with the practice of Mid Maine Internal Medicine in Vassalboro practicing traditional internal medicine at Maine General Hospital in Waterville.

Dr. Raph and his wife, Ileen, have relocated to Houlton and are looking forward to meeting community members.  Dr. Raph enjoys fly fishing, international soccer and traveling and Ileen enjoys photography.  Dr. Raph has three grown children; Sean recently graduating from University of Maine at Farmington, Patrick attending Southern Maine Community College and his daughter, Caitlin, attending Clark University in Massachusetts completing a semester in South Africa.
